Its been a long day's nighht and I'm

a workin like a dooooooggg.

Not much to report. Wendy starts massage therapy school tomorrow and I am now working 7 days a week. 5 for the hotel and 2 for my parents, helping them finish the construction project that brought us out to this state in the first place.

Lately, I have been thinking alot about how maleable identity is. It amazes me that people's viewpoints and understanding can differ greatly over the course of a lifetime. Yet, biologically we are and have been basically the same physical being.

After watching a show on dinosaurs on Discovery, I was thinking about how these animals went extinct. From a scientific perspective, it is possible that the human race could go extinct. What would the next conscious being say about our civilization? They would probably look at our system like we view a tunnel created by ants or termites.

Anyway, on another topic, we need help from the milligan people. Answer this question for us (we went rounds about it last night):

If a party were hosted during Milligan's homecomming weekend, say at the Carnegie, should there be a tasteful open bar included in the festivities? Why/why not?

I anticpate answers.

Comments:
Yes.

Why? I am ok with admiting that drinking in moderation helps me relax and interact socially. And when I think of the best parties I've ever been too, many (not all) of them included the devil's drink.

That, or maybe I'm just a boozehound.

Heck yeah! Think about how much drinking I mised out on being a good girl at Milligan.

And Mike is just a boozehound.

Who's planning this party?

(And you know my answer will be yes)

well the story sort of goes like this...

a month ago the class of 86 across albquerque were having their reunions. Many chose our hotel for their parties. I get to be the unfortunate person who helps the staff get all the liqour for these parties. We are talking enough alcohol to keep Capote, Pollock and [fill in the blank E! hollywood true story character] lit for at least a day and a half.

I say unfortunate because I don't get a free sample or anything like that.

Anyway, we were talking about how great it would be to have a party and make it an annual or at least periodic thing. You know, invitations and all that. As for the subject of where, my mind immediately goes to the nicest hotel in town becasue as you well know I am the hotel gabacho. And what do hotels have in easy abundance? food and spirits.

So I wouldn't imagine the alumni association acknowledging such a soiree, but it could gain some cultish appeal over time. maybe? Either that or it could go down in a wave of chaos. That's what happens at the reunions here in albuquerque. The barman stocks Patron silver because people are going to want to take shots after awhile and contemplate seeing if, "there is anything there after all these years.
